Installation

Note:  in this example we will be using version 2.1.30719.1159 on a 64-bit machine, however these instructions will still apply for future versions, as well as the 32-bit install.

Note: if you have a previous installation of WAX 2.0, you will need to remove this using your distributions package manager.

Step 1: Download

To download the latest deb package sign-up for a trial, then download the package file onto your local machine and copy it to your server.

Make sure you download the package for your correct architecture (ie: i386 or amd_64).

Step 2: Install

To install WAX, issue the following command as root:

root@example.com:~$ bash wax-installer-2.1.30719.1159-x64

The installer will attempt to auto-detect your environment settings.  If you are using Apache from your distributions repository or have installed to /opt from source, the settings will auto-detect correctly.  If you have a non-standard installation, you will need to specify where Apache is installed.

Installation should take only a couple of seconds, and the WAX daemon and Apache will both be restarted.

Step 3: Verify waxd is running

Check to make sure waxd is running before configuring your server.

root@example.com:~$ ps aux | grep waxd
