Aptimize Speeds Up Microsoft's Website

Microsoft is now using Aptimize’s Website Accelerator (WAX) to speed up their flagship SharePoint website: SharePoint.Microsoft.com

Ed visited Seattle recently, met with the SharePoint team and demonstrated how SharePoint.Microsoft.com page load speeds could be improved with Aptimize.  The team immediately saw the benefit this would deliver to their customers. Deploying the solution and seeing benefits is a very fast and simple process.

After downloading, installing and configuring Website Accelerator for the website, here are the results:

• First-view load times reduced 46-64%
• Repeat view load times reduced up to 50%
• Start render reduced more than 50% (how long people see a blank page before it draws)
• YSlow Score increased from E to B

SharePoint Performance - How to Improve Slow SharePoint Websites

SharePoint performance was boosted last month. April was a huge month for improving slow SharePoint websites with with Aptimize's RPO accelerator product. For SharePoint websites in April, average page load times were decreased by 35% for first view and 49% for repeat views - an excellent result with no website changes, no extra hardware.  Here are some of the websites that were aptimized in April 2009:

	Allergan's UK website for their Juvederm ULTRA beauty product.  The site was developed by Rosetta, and hosted at Rackspace - the best hosting service for SharePoint websites and intranets.
	Turners Auctions. New Zealand's largest auction house. The site was developed by Gen-I, one of our favorite local partners.
	Wolters Kluwer. The online presence for Wolters Kluwers journal of Neurosurgery. The site was developed with Pointbridge.
	New Zealand Trade & Enterprise. The website for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, a New Zealand government department; developed by another of our favorite local partners Intergen.
	Australia's Redland City Council's community forums - the community site for Redland City, located in beautiful and sunny Queensland Australia.

InfamousRO Apache Results

Erik Foreman is seeing a 40% increase in traffic on http://infamousro.com after applying the beta version of the Apache RPO.

This site is a free online service for the popular online role-playing game Ragnarok, running Apache 2.2, PHP 5 and IPB on Ubuntu Linux.

The community forums section saw the biggest performance improvement with Apache RPO:
1. YSlow score increased from  F (50)  to B (88)

2. HTTP requests reduced from 30 to 22

3. First view load times reduced from 6.2 secs to 3.6 secs

4.  Repeat view load times reduced from 4.0 secs to 1.0 secs
